Importing Scores to WebCT
Taking the following steps will enable you to transfer scores from the bubble sheets to your WebCT gradebook column. If you already have an active WebCT course, you can skip to step 3.
1. Create an account for your class on WebCT by filling out the online form. To access the form, select the "Request a Course" link on the WebCT homepage.
2. Import the student information into your WebCT class by completing the online form, which is accessed by selecting the "Enroll Students" link of the WebCT homepage.
3. Log into WebCT and create a column in your gradebook for the exam. Use a short name for the column and remember the name is case-sensitive.
4. When you give the exam, ask the students to code their name left-justified in the NAME area and the middle 9 digits of their ISU Card number left-justified in the IDENTIFICATION NUMBER section.
5. Create a "Key" bubble sheet with:
- KEY in the NAME area (in the center)
- The last question number used as a three-digit number in the SPECIAL CODES area (left-justified). For example, if the last question number used on the bubble sheet is "50", then enter "050" left-justified in the SPECIAL CODES area.
- The course name, ID, instructor's name, and exam name across the top of the key
6. Submit your bubble sheets with the "Key" sheet on top to the Solution Center, 195 Durham Center, and fill out a Test and Evaluation Submittal Form. On the right-hand side of the form, check the box by "Transfer data to course WebCT gradebook" and include your email, WebCT Course ID, and Column Label. You will be sent an email when the results have been transferred to WebCT.
That email will include a comma-separated spreadsheet file attachment that includes all the student scores that were to be transferred to your WebCT course. This will enable you to fill in the scores in your WebCT course for those students who did not include a decipherable ISU card number on the bubble sheet. A list of those students will be included in the email.
Also included in the email you receive will be five PDF files that contain reports on Item Statistics, Respondent Statistics, Frequency Distribution, Test Statistics, and Item Analysis.
