You must register your computer in order to access the ISU network and to use the wireless hotspots throughout campus. Follow these steps to complete the registration process.
- When you first open your browser, the registration page should appear, if it does not, go to http://netreg.iastate.edu
- Under Students/Faculty/Staff enter your Net-ID and password and click "Next".

If you are a student using a Windows-based PC, you will be prompted to download and install Inspector. If you are using a Mac or Linux machine or are a faculty/staff member, disregard this step.
- Click the Download button.
- If prompted, click "Save File".
- When download is complete, double-click the file to open it.
- If prompted, click "OK".
- If prompted, click "Run".
- Inspector will scan your computer to help insure it is protected. (This may take a few minutes.)
- Read the Inspector report that appears. If you passed, continue to the next step. If not, either correct the issues noted and re-inspect or note the reasons you did not pass and click "I'm ignoring your advice and proceeding" to complete the registration process. On the next screen click "Continue WITHOUT Completing Inspection".
NOTE: You must pass Inspector to continue using the ISU network. If you choose to continue without passing inspection, Inspector will re-scan your computer again in about a week. If you fail on the third attempt, Inspector will lock you out of the ISU network and you will need to contact the Solution Center to regain access after taking care of any issues Inspector indicated.
- On the next screen, click "I agree".
- After the system assigns an IP address restart your computer for the changes to take place.
